OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 15, with a focus on raw power and extended battery life. The global model, set to arrive on November 13, will boast a massive 7,300-mAh battery – one of the largest capacities currently available in a flagship Android phone. This is a significant upgrade for users who demand all-day performance without compromise.
Charging and Display Capabilities
The OnePlus 15 will support 80-watt wired charging via SuperVooc and 50-watt wireless charging through AirVooc. While slightly slower than the 120-watt speeds offered in the Chinese version, these charging rates are still competitive and efficient.
The device features a 6.78-inch display with a 1.5K resolution and a blistering 165Hz refresh rate. OnePlus claims this will deliver smooth, high-frame-rate gaming, with titles like Call of Duty: Mobile and Brawl Stars running at a fluid 165 frames per second. The display also includes a 3,200Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring responsiveness for fast-paced gameplay. This surpasses the touch sensitivity found in other gaming phones, such as the RedMagic 11 Pro (2,592Hz).
Performance and Cooling
Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, currently the fastest available for Android devices. To handle the heat generated by this chip, OnePlus is implementing an advanced cooling system featuring a vapor chamber and “aerospace-derived aerogel insulation” to minimize surface temperatures. This ensures sustained performance during intensive tasks.
Camera Details
Early hands-on reports suggest the global OnePlus 15 will mirror the camera setup of its Chinese counterpart. This includes a triple 50-megapixel rear camera system with wide, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses (with 3.5x optical zoom) as well as a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
The OnePlus 15 is positioning itself as a powerhouse device with a clear focus on performance, battery life, and gaming. While some features are slightly toned down compared to the Chinese model, the global version still offers a compelling package for Android enthusiasts.
